The H.M. Bailey Award was established in 1959 to acknowledge long, faithful and meritorious service in the field of public water and/or wastewater works as exemplified by the late H.M. Bailey, a charter, and highly esteemed, member of the WCW.
Members of the Municipal Service & Suppliers Association and all professional engineers and chemists are to be excluded except those professional engineers and chemists engaged full time in the actual operation of water and/or sewage plants. Membership in a Constituent Organization of Western Canada Water is essential at the time of receiving the award.
Minimum of 15 years service in the water and sewage works field.
Long, faithful and meritorious service to the public in a water or sewage works field.
The recipient must be from the host province in which the conference will be held that year.
Candidates may be nominated by the host province Provincial Council or any active member in good standing. The nomination shall be submitted with a brief outline of candidate qualifications for the award to the Executive Director by August 1st. The Executive Director shall verify the nominee’s membership in the Association.
The host province Provincial Council shall make the final selection. Selections shall be made not later than September 1st.
An announcement of the award recipient will be made at the Annual Conference Awards Presentation and in the following WCW Magazine edition.
