Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development’s 2014-15 annual report released

The Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development’s 2014-15 annual report has been released to the public.  Next year, the 2015-16 annual report will be released under the ministry’s new name: Environment and Parks.

The report outlines the department’s progress towards its desired outcomes and ministry financial statements for the 2014-15 fiscal year.

The report highlights key areas of focus in 2014-15 as the ministry continues to advance stewardship of our air, land, water, biodiversity and natural resources through integrated resource management. Progress is reflected in the approval of the South Saskatchewan Regional Plan, continued implementation of Alberta’s Plan for Parks and proclamation of the Fisheries (Alberta) Amendment Act requiring watercraft entering Alberta to be inspected for invasive species, especially zebra and quagga mussels.   They also continued developing mitigation strategies in response to the June 2013 floods and enhanced FireSmart initiatives in fire prone communities.

Consistent with the Government of Alberta’s Greening Government Strategy, and as part of their commitment to be environmentally and fiscally responsible, you are invited to view the annual report online at: http://aep.alberta.ca. If you wish to receive a hard copy of the annual report, call their Information Centre at 780-427-2700 or 780-944-0313 (dial 310-0000 for a toll free connection).
