CONNECTING OUR WATERS – A United Nations World Water Day Panel Discussion

March 22nd, 6:30 – 9:00 pm Riverview Room, Shaw Conference Centre, 9797 Jasper Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB

“Connecting Our Waters” is part of an ongoing series of events hosted by the University of Alberta’s Intersections of Sustainability Collaborative Research Network, bringing together diverse yet connected bodies of knowledge to co-create our collective future.

Water connects us all. This event will consider our relationships to water here in Alberta via two divergent yet connected streams:

  • Indigenous communities who have long historical relationship with the waters that are the lifeblood of these lands;
  • Settler communities who in broad terms govern the management of and discourse around water.

Join us to hear from internationally recognized experts.

  • Dr. Bob Sandford, EPCOR Chair for Water and Climate Security, United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment and Health
  • Dr Nicholas Ashbolt, Translational Health Chair in Water University of Alberta
  • Dr. Carl Mendoza, Professor in Earth & Atmospheric Sciences University of Alberta
  • Lisa Weber, Métis Barrister and Solicitor LLB, LLM

Q&A and networking session will follow.
