Watchorn Rentals Ltd. is an Aquatera company providing cost-effective wastewater treatment services, full service wash cars, fire suppression services, office trailers, and more to remote work camps in Northern Alberta and British Columbia.

The General Manager of Watchorn Rentals is a dynamic leader with a knowledgeable footprint in the oil, gas and rental industry. With many different industry connections, our Watchorn General Manager has a personable and ambitious attitude. This position will manage staff while overseeing and directing all activities related to accomplishing business objectives. They will also manage daily operations of the business, in line with the strategic plan including achieving reasonable growth objectives, and maintaining the company in a financially secure position.

Responsibilities Include:

• Ongoing management duties including: overseeing staff and staffing requirements, interview, hire and train new employees, developing succession plans and incentives.
• Review financial statements, sales and reports to measure productivity and goal achievement to determine areas of cost reduction and improvement.
• Assist in the establishment and implementation of policies, goals, objectives and procedures as necessary.
• Monitor third party businesses and suppliers to ensure that they efficiently and effectively provide needed services and supplies while staying within budget.
• Direct the annual sales, manufacturing, administration and capital budgets in such a way as to maximize the long-term profitability of the organization.
• Determine the type and scope of products to be manufactured and sold. Set pricing in accordance with budget guidelines and work to establish credit terms and policies for customers.
• Enhance the organizations reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring new opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Support the strategic plan development by studying technological and financial opportunities; presenting assumptions and recommending objectives.
• Actively seeking opportunities for business development and profitable growth of the company.

Qualifications Include:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Management, Finance, Business Admin or similar.
• Minimum 5 years experience in a senior leadership role
• Minimum 5 years experience in the gas and oil industry
• Established relationships with oil and gas industry professionals is critical.
• Experience in the provision of camp services and oilfield rentals an asset.
• Proven understanding of sales, finance and management.
• Excellent judgement and decision-making skills with the ability to consider the relative costs and benefits of potential actions.
• The ability to read and understand banking figures such as discounts, interest rates, percentages and commission.
• Proven ability to work with a Board of Directors.
