This seminar is designed as a basic introduction for the identification and control of problems associated with typical unit processes within drinking water and wastewater facilities. The presentation topics will focus on fundamental problem solving topics of plant design, operation and maintenance through a case study format of:

  • problem identification,
  • approach to resolution,
  • outcome and
  • lessons learned.

The course is suitable for operators looking to expand working level knowledge of water/wastewater facilities through shared experiences. Management, Consultants and Suppliers are also welcome to promote improved insight to these working level problems and their solutions.
 

Topics:

Example topics that may be covered include: pump selection and uses; dechlorination; UV dosing; filter backwashes; reservoir turnover; main breaks; PLCs; instrumentation selection; etc.
