The Water and Wastewater Technician Program is looking for a dynamic, energetic individual with strong communication skills who is committed to student success, satisfaction, motivation and achievement and in participating in the team concept of program operations.

Instructional topics may include but are not limited to:

  • Distribution and Collection Systems and Water and Wastewater Treatment
  • Basic Math, Chemistry and Electricity
  • Fire hydrants, Pumps & Hydraulics, Blueprint Reading, and Survey Skills
  • Water Disinfection Methods and Equipment


  • Preparing and presenting classes in classroom and lab settings
  • Organizing and supervising practical student assignments
  • Conducting student evaluations and maintaining progress records
  • Participating in course and program reviews as well as curriculum development


  • Minimum diploma or related post-secondary education (undergraduate or equivalent preferred), specializing in the operation or maintenance of Water and Wastewater facilities
  • Relevant and recent experience in water and wastewater systems
  • Computer literacy skills and a class V driver’s license
  • Instruction experience in this field would be an asset
  • Ideal candidate would be certified to level IV in at least one of the following categories: water treatment, water distribution, wastewater treatment and/or wastewater collection.

Remuneration: Will be commensurate with education and experience.
