Job Information:

Our Kamloops office is in search of a Process Design Technologist to join our process design team. The opportunity will involve providing drafting and design support for a variety of municipal water supply and wastewater treatment infrastructure design. You will primarily work with our team of water and wastewater design professionals, and will also support our general civil and municipal engineering and planning teams.

The key responsibilities of this position include the following:

• Preparation of equipment and piping layouts;
• Preparation of process and instrumentation diagrams;
• Civil design and drafting associated with treatment and other infrastructure works;
• Drafting detailed engineering drawings based on verbal instruction and/or hand sketches;
• Carrying out design tasks using AutoCAD, Plant 3D and Civil 3D with the support of senior designers;
• Troubleshooting CAD software issues;
• Preparing quantity estimates;
• Ensuring quality control and verifying accuracy of your production work; and
• Communicating with Project Leaders and team members.

About You

The preferred candidate for this position is energetic, enthusiastic and passionate about drafting and design, and will be a graduate of an Engineering Technology Program with up to 5 years of related experience. The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and being equally comfortable working as part of a multidisciplinary team or independently will be considered an asset. In addition, you will possess the following skills, interests and qualifications:

• Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment plants;
• Familiarity with AutoCAD design products, experience with Plant 3D would be an asset;
• An interest in, and inclination towards, troubleshooting CAD issues;
• Proactive, energetic and enthusiastic, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment;
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Willingness to help out where needed on a variety of projects, including general civil infrastructure design and production;
• High attention to detail and takes pride in producing high quality work while providing great service to both internal and external clients; and
• Committed to continuous learning and improvement.
